At the American Epilepsy Society (AES) 2024 Annual Meeting in Los Angeles, Dr. Alice Ballerini received the Young Investigator Award ($1200) for her abstract “Late-onset Temporal Lobe Epilepsy differs from Mild Cognitive Impairment: insights from brain atrophy and Alzheimer’s Disease biomarkers”. Selected from among the highest-rated abstracts submitted by early-career researchers, the award recognises the lab’s work on the relationship between late-onset epilepsy and neurodegeneration, carried out in collaboration with the Cognitive Neurology and Dementia Neuroimaging group led by Prof. Giovanna Zamboni.
